On the founding of the Family:
As told by Druez Traceless, Serpent Lord of the Queen's Loyal
Armies
From the land of Sossaria; hailing from the broken shard of Catskills.
'Such a dark night, Such an earily dark
night.' I slumbered back and thought to myself. Traveling along
reasoning with the recent occurrences; I chuckle to myself. While
dicing with the locals in Britain at the local inn; you know,
the Blue Boar Inn.
That is where it all happened. I was rather
intoxicated, and took my shirt off for the ladies in the tavern.
I mean, they were begging. I had no choice.
***note to self*** "This one is rather conceited" I vaguely dance
my eyes across the exotic lady performing on stage. She was singing
an ode relating one of my many victorious battles. Suddenly, I
noticed she had changed the words, and people were laughing instead
of cheering in awe of my deftness. I started laughing and stood
up and shouted aloud, I will bed you tonight laughing girl. She
looks at me..... Smiles.... Says yes, you just might, if your
cards fall right.
Something about her eyes... a hidden power, I can't describe.
She begins to languidly sing a melancholy
rhyme.
Silently I come,
Out through the night,
Some may scream,
Some, no doubt choose flight.
Those with me.
May surely Kiss me.
But if you flee,
You shall see
What the disloyal
get from me.
Silently I go,
ever .. so .. slow.
into the mist...
must I now go.
Those who wish
to know Where I go?
Embrace the Serpent
and you shall surely know.
Then she was gone.
Somehow, haphazardly I make it to my room.
Moments after arriving, I pass out. I am oddly awakened with an
overwhelming need to go someplace. Lifting my clothes and self
off the floor, I reluctantly began my preparations.
Grumbling and chuckling to myself; "why did I eat that fungi,
I know better than to trust that Caligula."
I, instinctively grab, my bow, herbs, and a cloak; I hurry out
the door. The next few hours or so are mostly a blur.
As I ride at full gallop, to somewhere,
my horse seems to exhibit the same urgency. He leaps into the
darkness weaving in and out of shadows and branches, as if possessed.
I'm coming near it now, I can feel the importance expand.
My horse stops. I can see a faint glow
up ahead, near some obsidian-cut rocks where the forest meets
the mountains. As I approach, I can feel my heart soar with power.
In a clearing, of sorts, I see the most fascinating creature.
A woman's face of divine beauty, her hair delicately coiling around
her face; seemingly, ending in pools about her serpentine like
body.
In my head, I feel her speak, breathing
her essence. "So my pet, you have come to me. You wish for a chance
to bed me eh?" Recognition dawns in my mind, and I realize, the
eyes are the same.
Can't explain it.
I simply bow down before her, exposing
my neck to her. I have no idea why I do this. It feels right I
suppose.
I can feel her hair tickling around my neck as she lowers herself
to whisper in my ear. So you have come, so you shall receive what
is promised. Lashing out she bites deep into my neck, I feel a
surging in my loins as power convulses throughout me. It burns,
my body is on fire. The insides, being eaten by poison.....
I hear her laughing and I pass out, knowing from this day forth
my life will be changed.
I awaken, to the bard from the night before
cradling a newborn baby in her arms.
"I suppose, I should explain a few things to you. I am Serpent
Queen, Danciy Dynae. I don't particularly like you. But the goddess
has apparently chosen you to help me with the task of raising
a child. Furthermore, I know you are a drunken play-boy who lives
in his past. And I know you have Serpent dreams. Allow me to direct
you concerning what you should do next. Do you understand?"
I simply nod my head, for some reason.
You will build me an army, you will help me raise this girl and
teach her the ways of a noble, loyal warrior.
Finally, You will clean yourself up. Oh yes, and stop drinking.
Do you understand this?
I simply nod again. This time looking at her cleavage with a sly
smile"
"And no, I don't come with the package, pig."
"Whatever!" I shout, "Damn you nag a lot.
I'm off to go build you your army."
As I walk by her I notice those violet
eyes in the girl. With that same source of power, strength, that
pull. I nod understanding to myself, the things are coming back
to me.
What had happened last night.
Making love to that feisty bard girl.
My neck being bitten.
The goddess.
Build an army.
Build a family.
Raise the girl.
In the end all I can remember in full detail. . .
We Shall be Named: Family of Silver Serpents
